I just had to write this down...
We've been studying Vikings in school. Today we read about a Viking funeral. So Emma had the idea to pretend that they were Vikings and wanted to draw a picture from a bird's viewpoint, of their Viking grave and their prized possessions. Note this: wealthy and powerful vikings were buried WITH THEIR BOATS and most prized possessions much like the pharoahs...
Emma had so many things she wanted to take, that she couldn't make pictures, so she just wrote the items (ballet shoes, AWANA workbook, paper and pencils, books, her pillow...very practical). Ellie wanted her dress up outfit (she was buried in it), her mermaid that she sleeps with, a blankie and some books. Erik wanted to have his best friend, Joel buried with him. And some clothes. Tells you what he thinks of Joel...and the rest of us...
