Today the girls had their hair cut for Locks of Love. They each had 11" of hair cut off in honor of their 3 year old cousin Will, who is battling Leukemia. It was Emma's 2nd time doing this and the first for Ellie. They were so excited to finally have short hair...and they knew that their Daddy would be sad to see their long locks go. Now we can just imagine their hair on some other little girl's head...

Do they do this each summer? Their hair grows 11 inches in a year? I love both looks but the new look will certainly be more comfortable down here in the summer!
No, De'Etta. Emma did this 2 years ago. So her hair grew over 11 inches in 2 years...she's planning on continuing this cycle of cutting her hair every 2 years.
Ellie and Emma look so grown up in their new haircuts! It was great to see them and talk to you this week!
oh girls, you've made aunt angie cry. but then again i've been crying a lot tonight! thank you for honoring your cousin by donating your hair to locks of love. we think you're beautiful inside AND out.

uncle sam just came into the computer room here at the childrens hospital where your cousin will is right now. he saw your pictures and he said that he's sure your daddy is VERY proud of you...even if he does miss your hair!
